Entering his first season as the New York Knicks head coach, David Fizdale is already facing a dilemma this early in the (pre) season. It's a good problem to have though, as the 44-year-old appears to be facing a tough decision in balancing the playing time between a number of capable guards in his squad.
Fizdale recently told Marc Bereman of the New York Post that given how impressive his guards have been over the summer, it appears that he will need to think long and hard about who he intends to start in the backcourt, as well as how his rotations are going to look like.
“They all showed the ability to run the team and guard their position well,’’ Fizdale said. “They’ve made it tough on me — which is good.’’
Tim Hardaway Jr., the team's number two option behind the injured Kristaps Porzingis, appears to be the only safe bet among the Knicks' guard. It is also possible that he is shifted to the three spot, opening more playing time for the PG and SG positions.

Emmanuely Mudiay, the seventh overall pick from the 2015 Draft, as well as 25-year-old Ron Baker are the two other guards that are looking to force their way into Fizdale's rotation.
Fizdale still has a fair amount of personnel issues he will need to address entering the season, but by the looks of things, the problem at he guard spots is one he will not mind having.
