New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis is set to make his first All-Star appearance in this year's festivities, but he looks to make more than just a few friends, but also some potential teammates when mingling with the biggest stars in the league.
Among them is Kyrie Irving, who is missing tonight's game against the Knicks with a right quad contusion, but will likely be next to Porzingis as part of Team LeBron fo the Sunday night All-Star showdown.
“That's a good idea,” Porzingis told Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News about recruiting his fellow All-Stars over the weekend in L.A. “I'll get to know them a little better, all the guys. All guys want to play with other All-Stars on their team. But it's not something I focus on. If it happens, it happens.”

The Knicks have gotten rid of one of their main constraints to sign free agents, unloading Carmelo Anthony's $54 million deal over the preseason, and if they can somehow managed to dump Joakim Noah's massive four-year, $72 million to another team, they could be in line to find Porzingis a partner in this upcoming offseason.
Porzingis considers himself a fan of Irving and will be sure to mention the possibility of linking up in the future.
“I love his game. He's one of my favorite players,” Porzingis said. “From Day One, to watch, I think he's one of the most entertaining guys. And he's clutch. He's clutch and a winner. I love that about him.”
