To say that the New York Knicks' season has not gone according to plan is definitely an understatement. With a lot of optimism that they can contend for a playoff spot before the campaign started, the hopes of the New York faithful dwindled when they were not able to start the year in their ideal fashion.
It also did not help that their best player, Kristaps Porzingis, went down with an ACL tear earlier this month and will miss the remainder of the season. Now, they have lost eight straight games.
That includes their defeat on Wednesday against the Washington Wizards. However, it was not just any ordinary loss as they blew a 27-point lead, their largest since its inception 27 years ago, according to Ian Begley of ESPN.
Article Continues BelowIf the Knicks lose tonight to Washington, it will be their biggest blown lead (27 points) since the stat was first charted in 1991-92. This season, they’ve blown leads of 23, 22 and 21 points.

This is definitely a concerning development for the Knicks as not only are they losing games, but are also failing to win games despite leading by very big margins. They were also held on Wednesday to only 41 points in the entire second half, after scoring 72 in the first two quarters.
The situation of the Knicks is truly unenviable at this point, and by not making a number of moves during last week's trade deadline, they are going to be stuck with the current group of players they have on their roster. Surely, they can go after some players that were recently waived, but there's no one available that appears to be a game-changer for the Knicks that could turn around their fortunes as this season progresses.
