The New York Knicks are looking into bringing back one of its former point guards, but it's not for the reason you may think.
Pablo Prigioni, who made the playoffs with the Knicks in the 2012-13 season, has been a head coach overseas for a while. But the Knicks organization may try to bring him in to mentor the team's young guards in Frank Ntiliikna and Emmanuel Mudiay, per Marc Berman of the New York Post.

“Team president Steve Mills offered Prigioni a job last summer, but he turned it down to become head coach of Baskonia of the Spanish League.”
Prigioni played overseas for the bulk of his career, and had a brief stint in the NBA. That playoff year with the Knicks was his rookie campaign in the NBA. He played six total seasons in the NBA and had two separate stints with the Knicks.
Prigioni was not the flashiest of players or even the most effective consistently, but he had a lot of basketball experience when he entered the league. That is possibly the biggest reason why the Knicks want him as a player development coach.
The Knicks could certainly use a former player like Prigioni to mentor the team's young talent. As it stands right now, the Knicks don't really have any veterans to show the young players the way on and off the basketball court.
