The New York Knicks are reportedly working on securing a free agent meeting with superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard when free agency begins on June 30, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Leonard will be taking his free agent meetings in Los Angeles. The Knicks have cap space to sign two max contract players this offseason. Would Leonard really leave the Toronto Raptors to sign with the Knicks, who have been a walking disaster for years? The obvious answer is no, but Kawhi is wired differently and may want to embark on the challenge of trying to get the Knicks back to prominence. New York hasn't had a winning record and made the playoffs since 2013.

Leonard is coming off arguably one of the best playoff runs in NBA history. He guided the Raptors to their first ever NBA championship. The Claw averaged 30.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the postseason while shooting 49.0 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 88.4 percent from the free-throw line.
