The New York Knicks will likely keep Damyean Dotson despite a flurry of new free-agent signings.
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, the Knicks are planning to exercise their $1.5 million option on Dotson before the deadline on July 15. It was earlier speculated that New York will likely let him go after agreeing to deals with veteran guards Elfrid Payton, Reggie Bullock, and Wayne Ellington.

The 25-year-old shooting guard averaged 10.7 points on top of 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 73 games, including 40 starts. During his rookie season, he only posted 4.1 points in 10.8 minutes in 44 games for New York.
The Knicks still have one roster spot, which they will likely use for Lance Thomas. Veteran guard Vince Carter is also being linked to the Knicks. The Knicks struck out on their big targets this offseason, and opted to sign free agents to short-term deals.
New York targeted deals with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, but both superstars decided to join the Brooklyn Nets. The Knicks also planned to make a pitch on Kawhi Leonard. However, Berman revealed that they cancelled a meeting with the two-time champion because of fears that their targets might come off the market if they waited for Kawhi's decision.
