New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson denied Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon twice in one possession.
Early in the second quarter of the game, the 20-year-old rookie perfectly timed Gordon's jump shot and lay-up attempt.

Among rookies, Mitchell Robinson is the leader in blocked shots per game with 2.20. Overall, he’s the third in the league, establishing himself as one of the best rim protectors in the NBA right now.
In the 2018 NBA Draft, Robinson was picked 36th overall and was tagged by analysts as the best defensive stopper in his draft class. Some have compared him to the likes of Tyson Chandler and DeAndre Jordan — athletic big men who are a presence on the defensive end.

In a previous interview, Mitchell's words reveal that he has figured out how to effectively swat shots. He believes that he can average up to six blocks per game.
“Probably around six,’’ Mitchell Robinson said, per Marc Berman of the New York Post, when asked about how many blocks he thinks he can average. “I feel like I can do around six.’’
Frankly, the rookie is capable of achieving such a lofty ambition.
