As Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors shot free throws in the NBA Finals, Toronto Raptors fans tried to mess with his mind by chanting “New York Knicks!”

Per Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun:

Kevin Durant is going to be one of the big-name free agents this summer. Though he hasn't shared his thoughts on the matter just yet, various rumors reveal that the former league MVP might be heading for the Knicks.

After all, the Knicks have enough cap space for two max deals. With this, Kevin Durant can easily team up with other big name free agents like Kyrie Irving or Kawhi Leonard.

On top of this, early-season arguments with his Warriors teammates led fans and critics to believe that things were not going well in the locker room. Though things have improved since then, fans are still hopeful for Kevin Durant to move to a different team.

New York — tagged as the mecca of basketball — has always been an attractive place to play for NBA players. It's a big market filled with opportunities an NBA player can take advantage of.

It has been quite a while since the Knicks have made it to the playoffs. The organization is in desperate need for a franchise player to revitalize the squad.

His injury in Game 5 might cause a certain amount of hesitation among various teams which would be concerned about his workload and the quality of a supporting cast which can manage his minutes, but Durant — arguably the best player in the world — should be ready to continue to perform at an extremely high standard.
