Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Paul George has had nearly everything going his way on the basketball court this season, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that nailing a buzzer-beating prayer from beyond half-court to close out the third quarter would be how his Tuesday night goes.

One wild bank shot does not make an MVP resume, but the body of work that George has compiled this season will certainly take the slight increase in three-point percentage wherever he can get it.

Coming into the night, only James Harden and Stephen Curry have attempted more shots from deep on a nightly basis than George, who has hoisted 9.6 shots from beyond the arc per game. His 3.9 makes are third behind that same duo.

The reliance on the three-point shot has vaulted George's scoring average to the second-highest mark in the league, trailing only Harden. At 28.7 points per game, the Thunder's wing is on pace to set a new career high, but that isn't the only category he's hitting his peak in this season: George's 8.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.2 steals (tops in the league) per game would all set new career bests if the season ended Tuesday.

As the Thunder and Nuggets duke it out during the regular season, the two teams may not be done with one another anytime soon. In the precarious world of Western Conference playoff standings, squads can vault up and down in a week's notice, with Denver and Oklahoma City currently occupying the second and third seeds, respectively.
