On Sunday, the Orlando Magic crashed back down to Earth with a road loss against the New York Knicks that wasn't as close as the final 106-100 score suggested. The Magic had Paolo Banchero in the lineup for this game but lost Franz Wagner due to an injury at one point in the first half.

In the second half, one controversial moment occurred when Knicks forward OG Anunoby had his layup attempt blocked and retrieved by Magic guard Desmond Bane, who inexplicably launched the ball off of Anunoby, who was on the ground out of bounds, instead of igniting a fast break for his team.

Bane was assessed a technical foul for the incident, per Ian Begley of SNY on X, formerly Twitter.

This isn't the first time that Bane has displayed some legit anger issues this season, as in a previous game against the Atlanta Hawks, he launched the ball off of center Onyeka Okongwu, and was subsequently tossed from the contest.

While he was able to stay in this one en route to the loss, the Magic will want to work with Bane on keeping his emotions under control, especially if the team were to appear in a playoff setting later down the line.

Meanwhile, the Magic will hope for good news on the Wagner front, as he suffered an injury on an awkward fall earlier in the game. The Magic only recently got Banchero back from an injury of his own, and the team is hoping that the 2025-26 season won't be another one heavily impacted by ailments suffered by their stars.

In any case, the Magic will next take the floor on Tuesday evening for a home game against the Miami Heat. That game will be a part of the knockout round for the ongoing NBA Cup, with the winner advancing to Las Vegas.
