New Orleans Pelicans point guard Rajon Rondo could make his return to the floor sooner than later, as head coach Alvin Gentry mentioned Nov. 17 as a potential return for his starting floor general, according to Scott Kushner of The New Orleans Advocate.

The veteran point man was sidelined prior to the start of the regular season with a sports hernia, which has forced Gentry to run with a similar offense as last season, after suggesting a backcourt comprised of Rondo and Jrue Holiday.

Rondo has only been doing work in the stationary bike as of yet and has made it a point to not rush himself back from injury, noting he wants to be available for the remainder of the season moving forward.
