The New Orleans Pelicans come into this training camp with a lot of familiar faces and some new ones to take yet another crack at making the postseason. The dynamic duo known as Fire and Ice of DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis, will hope to improve on last season's impromptu chemistry, this time with a game manager in Rajon Rondo in their daily lineup.

Rondo and Cousins mutually benefitted from their time together with the Sacramento Kings, giving the mercurial point guard a much-needed recognition boost, improving his stock in the league and giving Cousins his best statistical season yet in a Kings uniform.

The two look to rebuild this bond, this time around with an All-Star of Anthony Davis' caliber.

“They've only had a couple months together, I don't count pretty much last year even though they did play together,” Rondo told William Guillory of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. “I think those two guys are capable of being two of the best bigs to ever play this game as a duo. That's pretty high expectations but they have the talent to do it.”

Rondo led the league with 11.7 assists per game during the 2015-16 season, his one and only with Cousins and the Kings — a feat he can likely replicate with a two-headed monster in the frontcourt.

“It's early to say, but my expectations are it'll probably be the easiest I've ever had it as far as (playing) with a dynamic duo,” Rondo said. “Jrue (Holiday) can go get 40 (points) as well, so my job is a lot easier. I just got to make sure I manage getting guys the ball in the right spot and its up to them to play unselfish and do the rest.”
