Just over two weeks removed from being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, guard James Harden has secured the first points of his Philly career.

At the 8:43 mark in the first quarter of his debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Harden would make a hard drive to the basket, get fouled, then knock down a floater for his first two points as a member of the Sixers. Harden would drain his free throw, adding to his total of three points on the possession.
Harden was traded to Philadelphia from the Brooklyn Nets back on February 10 as a part of a blockbuster deal that saw the Sixers receive Harden and Nets teammate Paul Millsap while sending Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round draft picks to Brooklyn. Prior to the NBA trade deadline deal, Harden had been dealing with a hamstring injury that at the time kept him from playing his last games as a member of the Nets. With the trade and the All-Star break happening almost simultaneously, it allowed enough time for Harden to recover and join his new Sixers teammates.

Harden fell out of favor in Brooklyn after he reportedly put in an unofficial trade request with the Nets' front office. Similarly, the Sixers were looking for a trade partner for the embattled Ben Simmons, who had made his intentions on leaving Philadelphia clear this offseason.
If his first basket in a Philadelphia uniform is any indication of things to come, it's a good sign for Sixers fans everywhere!
