There's good news for Philadelphia 76ers fans: Sixers star Ben Simmons says he “fell in love with the game again” this summer.
For the Sixers to win the title in 2019-20, Simmons will have to have some resemblance of a perimeter game. The lefty has been working hard this offseason on his jump shot and is looking forward to the upcoming season.
Article Continues Below“I feel like this summer I fell in love with the game again,” Simmons told The Associated Press on Wednesday. “I kind of got back to who I was and having fun with the game. I felt like the past season I lost that enjoyment side of it but I feel like this summer has been huge for me. Just the work I've been putting in, I kinda fell in love with putting that work in again and I've been in the gym every day working and the results have been paying off so I'm excited for the season to start.”
Ben Simmons signed a five-year, $170 million maximum rookie contract extension with the Sixers this summer. Last season, Simmons averaged 16.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists while shooting 56.3 percent from the field. He recorded 42 double-doubles and 10 triple-doubles.
Simmons has yet to make a 3-pointer in his NBA career. Let's see if the 2018 Rookie of the Year makes one in 2019-20.
