Ben Simmons is the frontrunner for this year's Defensive Player of the Year. If he isn't, then he should be. If you have any qualms about that then you should definitely check out this insane defensive sequence from the Sixers star.

Not only did he almost came up with a steal during this play, but even more impressively, he sprinted a few meters to the corner to block a three-point attempt of a seemingly wide-open Patrick Patterson.
Article Continues BelowThe Sixers star knew that he had come up with a tremendous defensive effort so he made sure to soak it in afterward as he celebrated with the few fans in attendance.
Guys like Rudy Gobert and even Simmons' own teammate in Joel Embiid have been mentioned as possible Defensive Player of the Year candidates but based on this sequence alone, I'll have to say that Simmons gets my vote. This isn't an isolated case for the Sixers point guard either as he has flexed his defensive prowess throughout the entire season.
Right now, anyone would be hard-pressed to name another player in the league that can guard all five positions better than Ben Simmons. He's a big reason the Sixers are currently the top dog in the East.
