Ben Simmons made his first appearance in front of media on Tuesday as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. By no surprise, he was asked if he's talked to any of his Philadelphia 76ers teammates since the blockbuster trade went down last Thursday, which saw James Harden head to the Sixers.
Simmons revealed that he has been in contact with several players and front office figures, but he didn't speak to Joel Embiid:
"Did you speak with Joel?"
Ben Simmons: "No, I did not."

Simmons has talked to Doc, Elton, the Sixers owner and Tobias Harris since the trade but has not talked to Embiid.

You can literally see how irritated he was by the question. After all, Embiid absolutely roasted Simmons after he left the Sixers, basically saying the 25-year-old was more concerned with being a star rather than just winning games. The star big man also broke the internet when he posted this tweet after the trade:

Embiid made it clear that he was willing to welcome back Simmons with open arms if it can help Philly be a legitimate contender. But the point guard was clearly not interested in suiting up for the Sixers ever again and even said on Tuesday that his decision had nothing to do with any individual, it simply came down to the state of his mental health.
Based on his reaction to the question though, it's safe to say Simmons' relationship with Embiid has completely deteriorated. Now, Embiid will be focused on forming an unstoppable partnership with Harden and chasing a title this season.
