Joel Embiid made his much-awaited return to action for the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday as the Sixers took on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Wells Fargo Center. Embiid had to make sure to mark his comeback with at least one memorable moment, and it came in the form of this D-Generation X-inducing and-one play.

Embiid involved the spirit of the degenerates after scoring over Karl-Anthony Towns with a strong finish (h/t NBA TV on Twitter):

Embiid clearly wanted the one-on-one isolation play against Towns and he knew exactly what he wanted to do. The Sixers star showcased his dribbling skills with a smooth crossover dribble to fake out Towns. Embiid took it strong to the rim, absorbed the contact, and finished the play with a soft touch as he was falling out of bounds. Naturally, Embiid had to bust out his WWE fandom in his post-play celebration.

Joel Embiid and Towns had been going at it all night. Earlier in the contest, it was Towns who put Embiid on a poster, so this and-one served as redemption for the Sixers star. That “suck it” gesture may have been aimed at KAT as these two engage in an individual battle between two of the best bigs in the NBA today.
