Sixers' All-Star big man Joel Embiid has added a rare accolade to his name only he and Allen Iverson have claimed.
In the Sixers' blowout 117-96 victory over the Washington Wizards on Sunday, Joel Embiid scored his 7,000th point after nailing a 3-pointer in the third quarter. The feat was a special one as only Embiid and Sixers legend Allen Iverson have managed to reach it in the history of the franchise.

Iverson has long been a “fan” of Embiid and he has not been shy about giving the Sixers center a few career advice.
“Just focus that attention on the guys that you’re with, the coaching staff, and use them as that motivation,” Iverson said of Embiid last year. “It’s just like the motivation that you get when you’re playing pick-up. You still want to win, you’re still into it. Still playing as hard as you can. It’ll be different but you’re just playing basketball and you’re playing with the same agenda, same thing, and that’s to win basketball games. So, you do whatever you can.”
“And then you understand and realize that everybody else got to go through the same things you’re going through,” he added.
This wasn't the first time Embiied has joined AI in reaching some notable feats for the Sixers. In June, during Philly's 106-103 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Embiid completed his third straight 35-plus-point performance. In the process, he became the first Sixers player with 3 straight 35-point games since Iverson, who did so in 2006.
