The Philadelphia 76ers came up short against the Toronto Raptors in Game 1. To make matters worse, they will once again be without one of their key bench players in forward Mike Scott.

Scott has been nursing a heel injury he suffered in the opening round of the playoffs. According to Kyle Neubeck of the PhillyVoice, he will sit out Game 2 as well.

Mike Scott is listed as out for Game 2 against Toronto.

Scott's designation certainly deals a crushing blow to Philadelphia's chances at splitting the series on the road. The veteran has been arguably the Sixers' most vital player off the bench this season after averaging 7.8 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 41.2 percent on three-pointers. Unfortunately, he has reportedly been dealing with some plantar fasciitis over the last few weeks and it is clear that he is not yet ready to make his return. The Sixers will now have to dig deep into their bench once again to help contribute.

Scott's absence will be heavily missed on both ends of the floor. Not only are the Sixers without one of their sharpshooters on offense but they are also undermanned on the defensive end as well when it comes to guarding the likes of forwards Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam. With Scott's status still up in the air, head coach Brett Brown may have to rely heavily on the starters moving forward. At this point, the best the team can hope for is that he is healthy enough to make his return when the series comes to Philadelphia for Game 3.
