Philadelphia basketball legend Sonny Hill has a warning for the rest of the NBA, saying Sixers superstar big man Joel Embiid is just halfway to realizing his full potential as a basketball player.

Embiid started playing basketball at 15-years-old, modeling his game after Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon. Now 25, Embiid has turned himself into one of the best players in the league and the face of the Sixers.

Hill, who spends a lot of time with Embiid, says Joel is a very special player who is only going to get better.

“What people don’t understand is that he’s still learning to play the game,” Hill said, via Harvey Araton of the New York Times. “On a scale of 10, he’s probably a 6. He’s got another notch or two to go in terms of his development. He’s still learning how to play in the low post.

“But he has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get a shot. He can stand still and get a shot. He can run the floor. He doesn’t block shots like Wilt (Chamberlain) and Bill Russell but does intimidate. If we look at this era of basketball, he is the most well-rounded center that we have.”

Embiid missed the first two years of his career due to injuries, but since then, he's been a dominant force for the Sixers.

The two-time All-Star has career averages of 24.3 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 48.1 percent from the field. It's going to be really scary to see what type of player Embiid is in a few years, as if he's not already a freak of nature.
