Entering last June's draft, Markelle Fultz was one of the highly touted prospects and a lot of attention was given to him being the consensus top overall pick. He ultimately became the number one selection by the Philadelphia 76ers, who saw him as a big piece to their quest to become a playoff team once again and thought of him as a potential key contributor for them.

That has not been the case though as he has only seen action in four games so far this season with uncertainty surrounding his future. An update has been reported about him, but it's still not promising news. According to Jon Johnson of 94 WIP, the possible return of the 19-year-old Washington product will not happen anytime soon, as the Sixers do not plan to have him suit up for them in the immediate future.

The development only raises more questions about what his real condition is. There is already growing belief that he will likely miss the remainder of the season, regardless of how the 76ers will fare in it. If there's any good news for them at this point, the team is still currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and has a strong chance of making it to the playoffs for the first time in six years.

In the four games he's played in, Fultz was not able to showcase his true potential, only averaging 6.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 19.0 minutes per game. For now, the Philly faithful can only hope that he can recover from his injury soon and can play for their team once again. Despite all the uncertainties surrounding him, there is no doubt that he is a very talented player, and the only way for him to prove his worth is if he can don the team's jersey again and join his teammates on the floor.
