Things got pretty heated in Game 2 of the first-round series matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets. At one point in the game, Sixers big man Joel Embiid got hit with a Flagrant 1 after catching Nets center Jarrett Allen with an elbow right on the face.

After his team's lopsided 145-123 victory, Embiid explained his actions during the post-game press conference, and even went as far as apologizing to Allen for the inadvertent blow. Teammate Ben Simmons was sitting right next to him, and could not help but laugh at the Cameroonian's apology

For a second there it seemed as though Simmons cracked up because he knew Embiid was lying. Joel started laughing too, which may have led some to believe that his apology was half-meant and that he actually did mean to elbow Allen on the face.

It's a good thing Embiid explained their chuckling afterward, and as it turns out, Simmons was just not used to hearing his teammate's humility.

Embiid was a man on a mission on Monday night as he led the Sixers to a series-tying victory. The 24-year-old recorded a game-high 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, along with 10 rebounds, an assist, and a steal in just 21 minutes of play.

Simmons was not bad himself, logging an 18-point, 10-rebound, 12-assist triple-double in less than 30 minutes of action.

The series now heads back to Brooklyn tied with one win apiece, with Game 3 taking place on Thursday night.
