The Philadelphia 76ers have a strange dynamic on their team. Joel Embiid — the starting center — shoots more threes than Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz, two of the team's most important guards.

Embiid took 214 threes last season while Simmons and Fultz combined for 12. Granted, Fultz missed a large chunk of the season, but when Embiid was asked whether or not he'll make more threes than the combination of Simmons and Fultz, Embiid couldn't contain himself.

Embiid is asked about three-point shooting around the 4:40 mark:

“They will both make threes this season and I will make my threes this season too…We're gonna see how the season goes.”

Embiid avoided roasting his own teammates, but he couldn't hold back his laughter. As funny as he may find this question, Embiid will definitely outshoot the combination of Simmons and Fultz this year. He only shot 31 percent from deep last season, but he shoots well enough to pose a threat from behind the arc.

This aspect of his game helps open up the middle of the floor for other players. Additionally, with Fultz and Simmons on the court, Embiid needs to present a deep threat to keep the defense from sagging in the paint entirely. Fultz came into the league with a reputation as a shooter, but he lost his shot and ended up sitting out most of the season.

Despite the odd distribution of threes on the Sixers, Philly should be a serious contender in the Eastern Conference this season. The combination of Embiid and Simmons is developing into one of the most fierce duos in the league.
