Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry revealed his surprise during the moment his brother, Seth, got traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in an interview with Complex. Steph was with Seth when the trade went down, so he got to see the play-by-play of how it happened.

Steph even indicated Seth's move to Philly was the most surprising of any he saw during the offseason:

“The one that was closest to home, I was sitting next to my brother, on a little mini-vacation, and he was kind of on the phone,” Stephen Curry said, via Complex. “And he's so quiet, we didn't really know. He was kind of hinting, and talking about the trades and stuff like that. And it's kind of just out of the blue, because we were following the draft. He was sitting down at the table right next to me and he was like, ‘It's happening.' I'm like, ‘Wait, what'd you say?' And he's like, ‘I just got traded to Philly.' And then the tweet came in like maybe literally 45 seconds later. That was a surprising one.”

Seth had established himself as an important rotation player for the Dallas Mavericks after signing a four-year deal with the Mavs in the offseason. But Dallas opted to prioritize defense over shooting, acquiring Josh Richardson in the deal.

Of course, there is a pretty clear connection between Curry and the Sixers: Seth is married to head coach Doc Rivers' daughter. But the former Duke product also gives Philly much-needed perimeter shooting at the point guard spot. Seth is currently second all-time in career 3-point percentage behind Steph's own head coach, Steve Kerr.

Seth Curry has moved around the league quite a bit, whereas Stephen Curry has been with one team his entire career. Naturally, the two-time MVP was a little more surprised than usual experiencing his brother being traded firsthand.
