After re-aggravating his hamstring strain against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, Phoenix Suns star shooting guard Devin Booker says this time he's not going to rush back onto the floor and will take his time with his recovery. Booker was forced to exit the game in the second quarter after pulling up lame while chasing a loose ball.
Devin Booker said he will take things slower this time while he recovers from a re-aggravated hamstring sustained yesterday vs. the Lakers. No timetable on his return #Suns

This is the smart move by Booker as hamstring injuries can be really tricky. One minute the hamstring feels perfectly fine and then, one misstep later, it's strained again.
Booker signed a five-year, $158 million maximum contract extension with the Suns in the offseason and is a franchise cornerstone in Phoenix. However, the Suns aren't ready to compete for a playoff spot this season in the rugged Western Conference with their young, albeit talented, roster led by a rookie head coach in Igor Kokoškov.
The Suns are 4-19 on the season, 15th place in the Western Conference. Booker shouldn't step onto the floor until he's 100 percent and has full confidence in his hamstring. During another rebuilding year, there's no reason for him to rush back and risk getting hurt, again.
In 19 games this season, Devin Booker is averaging 23.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. The 22-year-old is shooting 43.9 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from beyond the arc and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line.
