Phoenix Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr. is slate to undergo a minor procedure on his left thumb and will consequently miss the remainder of the season, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Oubre's recovery timeline falls between four-to-six weeks, effectively sidelining him for the team's last 10 games of the regular season.

Upon his recovery, Oubre will head into restricted free agency on the best stretch of his career, averaging 20 points and 5.7 rebounds per game since becoming a starter for the Suns after the All-Star break.

The Suns acquired Oubre from the Washington Wizards reportedly with the intention of having options on who to sign next between him and second-year wing Josh Jackson. Both players have made a leap from their prior year, but Oubre has fit in well in the locker room and alongside Devin Booker — something the team will look at closely as it approaches free agency.

Oubre's season average is a mere 15.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, but considering he jumped from a reserve role under Scott Brooks to a starter under Igor Kokoskov, he will surely garner interest from the rest of the league.

The Suns will have to evaluate if they are indeed prepared to match any incoming offer for Oubre once July rolls around.
