Damian Lillard has been with the Portland Trail Blazers for many years now. He has yet to reach the pinnacle of the NBA, but right now, Dame is hoping that this is going to be their year.

One of the last remaining lifers in the NBA, Lillard recently revealed his dream of celebrating a championship with the city of Portland:

“Like, I can’t express my desire and how bad I want to win it,” Lillard said, via Timothy Rapp of The Athletic. “I want that more than anything. Not just to say I won a championship. But I want to do it in this city. I want to have a parade on Broadway and ride past El Gaucdamian ho (steakhouse). That’s what I think of. Every time the playoffs is starting, I’m going into it like, ‘Is this going to be the year that we shock the world or that we come up big?”’

Despite incessant whispers of a potential move away from Portland, Lillard has reiterated his loyalty to the Blazers on multiple occasions. Simply put, he just isn't going anywhere. This is regardless if he wins a title with the team or not. Of course, it would be nice to bag at least one chip before he calls it a career.

Dame and the Blazers' journey will start on Saturday when they take on the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of the opening round of the playoffs. Lillard and Co. will go up against MVP frontrunner Nikola Jokic in what should be a tough test for them. Dame fully understands that they will need to get over that hurdle first before anything else.
