In the interview with rapper Fat Joe, Damian Lillard pointed out that every team and every player were on equal footing in the bubble. External distractions like traveling, checking in and out of hotels, among others, were cleared out. Players could recover quickly and everything was set up for them. Thus, for the Blazers star, it was easier to perform at a high level.

It's an interesting point raised by Lillard. Initially, several fans and expert believed that an asterisk should be placed on the 2020 NBA Champion. After all, many players opted out of the bubble, and a few weeks before it began, several players—including franchise guys—tested positive for the coronavirus.

But as the bubble games began, people saw some pretty high-level performances. The Phoenix Suns went undefeated in the seeding games, while the Miami Heat upset the Milwaukee Bucks and made it all the way to the NBA Finals. Lillard's Blazers also clawed their way back to the playoffs, while the Denver Nuggets erased a 3-1 deficit twice. Player testimonies also revealed that they were missing their families as well, which added another layer of intricacy with regard to the bubble games.
