Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard had quite a few interesting quotes after Sunday’s disappointing loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Lillard, who just returned back from a hamstring injury, mentioned that the Blazers are obviously not like the Brooklyn Nets, a team that can just somewhat automatically win because of the loaded superstar in their squad.

Damian Lillard, who was in the MVP conversation early in the season, admitted that the Blazers are indeed in a ditch. They have lost five games in a row now and have dropped to seventh in the competitive Western Conference. Portland is also tied in the loss column with the Grizzlies.

It also doesn’t help that the Grizzlies now have the tie-breaker between them and the Blazers, which could end up becoming a huge deal towards the end of the season. But like always, Lillard remains positive he can lead the Blazers through adversity. The nine-year veteran said that even if he hasn’t been playing well enough in the past couple of games, he’s not going to shy away from all this challenge. 

True enough, the Blazers have struggled as of late. They seem to be having a hard time closing games strong, especially in their past couple outings. Normally, Lillard shines towards the fourth quarter, but his legs don’t seem to be there ever since he returned from a hamstring injury. This might just be part of the recovery process, but if Portland wants to be in a more comfortable spot, they have to start winning games.
