Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers experienced a brutal defeat to the Utah Jazz, as they lost 100-120. A season opener surely they would not have imagined, the Blazers are off to another slow start to the season.

With the Blazers entering the bubble fighting for the eighth seed, the leadership and performance of Lillard certainly stuck out. Lillard averaged 37.6 points and 9.6 assists in Orlando, including a stretch of three games where he scored at least 40 points, with a high of 61 points against the Dallas Mavericks. Lillard has established himself as one of the most dominant scorers in the NBA, with an unlimited range and ability to catch fire in an instant. A slow start is the last thing the Blazers want to see right now, especially from Lillard. But, there is plenty of time for the Blazers' backcourt to come back stronger than ever and give Portland a chance to be competitive in the Western Conference.
