During the Portland Trail Blazers' thrilling 108-105 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night, star point guard Damian Lillard added yet another impressive achievement to his All-Star career when he set the franchise record for most consecutive free throws made with 58.
The free-throw record that Lillard set, which was previously held by former Blazers standout Damon Stoudamire at 57 straight makes in 2005, was celebrated on Twitter by the Blazers' official account.

That is quite an impressive statistic, to say the least. Lillard's free throw streak, which was at 49 straight makes heading into Sunday's matchup with division rival Thunder, is now up to 60 consecutive free-throw attempts made after the star guard went a perfect 11-of-11 from the line.
Article Continues BelowIn addition to his new Blazers record, Lillard finished the game with 24 points on just 6-of-19 shooting from the field, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 38 minutes of action. Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum stole the show with his performance and eventually drilled the clutch game-winning basket with 18.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
“Being down and having to compete, going on runs, coming back and just having to get stops down the stretch,” McCollum said, per Cliff Brunt of the Associated Press. “They are a good team and made the game very difficult. We executed well on offense to come away with a win.”
On the night, McCollum went off for a game-high 34 points on 14-of-24 shooting, four assists, and four rebounds en route to improving Portland's record to 45-28 on the season and still the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference playoff race.
