The San Antonio Spurs, always ahead of the curve when it comes to scouting international prospects, have their eye on another Argentinian product. Guard Nicolas Laprovittola, who represented his country in the Rio Olympics, is reportedly on the Spurs' radar now.
The San Antonio Spurs are indeed working on trying to bring rugged Argentinean guard Nicolas Laprovittola to the NBA, league sources say

Laprovittola averaged 8.2 points, 2.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 17.0 minutes per game for Argentina in the Olympics. He shot just 35 percent from the field and 33 percent from the 3-point line.
Laprovittola, 26, made his pro debut back in 2007 at the age of 17 for Club Atlético Lanús. He played there until 2013 and for the past season he played for the Spanish club, Estudiantes.
He played his best basketball in the Brazilian league for Flamengo from 2013-15. There, he was a two-time champion, All-Star and one-time Finals MVP. He averaged 13.4 points and made 45.6 percent of his threes in those two seasons.
If the Spurs can convince Laprovittola to make the NBA jump, he'd give them a third Argentinean alongside Manu Ginobili and Patricio Garino.

Laprovittola is not exactly from the Manu Ginobili mold, but then again, who is? He'd be coming over a lot later in his professional career and doesn't appear to be the scorer or creator that Manu is.
Ginobili re-signed with the Spurs for another season this summer. His presence may help San Antonio lure another player from his country.
