In his second season with the San Antonio Spurs, forward LaMarcus Aldridge experienced a notable drop in his performance on the court.

Much of these issues came about during the playoffs where he didn't have a great impact on many of the games played. This has created the public perception that he's headed toward a steady decline in his play, but it has instead become a strong source of motivation for him to aim at becoming an All-Star again next season.

The 32-year-old is still a talented offensive player who has proven to be a factor both from the outside and the low post. The addition of a proven scorer in Rudy Gay to the fold could help create more opportunities for him to be a more effective scorer with higher field goal attempt opportunities.

That said, it will be a tall task for him to earn an All-Star Game selection given the addition of several more elite players to the conference over the summer with the like Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Paul Millsap, and Jimmy Butler further crowding the frontcourt options.

Nonetheless, it's clear that Aldridge is motivated to bounce back after a disappointing season, by his standards, to return to being regarded as one of the top big men in the league.
