DeMar DeRozan and the San Antonio Spurs are just 9-14 on the season, a record you don't see San Antonio often with.

The Spurs are looking to make the playoffs for the 23rd straight season. It would be very strange not to see Popovich and San Antonio in the postseason.

The Spurs have a lot of work to do if they want to get in the playoff picture, but one thing DeRozan isn't going to do is hold his head down.

But throughout it all — the contract talks, the losing, trade rumors and the frustration with officiating that has led to him being whistled for a team-high three technical fouls — DeRozan keeps plugging along. “No matter how bad something is, you can’t hold your head,” he said. ”I’ve been in the league 11 years now. I’ve been through the ups and downs. You have to fight through when things aren’t going your way.”

As was the case last season, the Spurs will ultimately go as far as DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge can take them. The two All-Stars are still figuring out how to play with each other and lead their group in a rugged Western Conference. There has been talk that the Spurs could trade DeRozan or Aldridge if the losing continues in San Antonio, but DeRozan is doing his best to avoid those rumors.

In 23 games this season for the Spurs, DeRozan is averaging 21.4 points and 5.7 rebounds.
