San Antonio Spurs guard Derrick White is expected to miss at least the next three games, according to Jeff McDonald of The San Antonio Express-News.

Derrick White is dealing with a right heel injury,  though it's not the same foot that caused him to miss some time earlier in the season.

The ailment could not have come at a worse time for White, as he has been playing some fantastic basketball recently. During the month of January, White averaged 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals over 30.9 minutes per game while shooting an incredible 59.7 percent from the floor, 47.1 percent from 3-point range and 75 .0percent from the free-throw line.

During the Spurs' win over the Brooklyn Nets to end the month, White racked up a career-high 26 points while also adding six assists, three rebounds and a pair of blocks in 25 minutes while going 8-of-13 from the floor, 3-of-4 from three-point range and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line.

On the season overall, White is averaging 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and3.6 assists over 25.3 minutes per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from 3-point range and 77.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Colorado, was originally selected by San Antonio in the first round (29th pick overall) of the 2017 NBA Draft. However, due to a fractured wrist he suffered in a G-League game, White was limited to just 17 games during his rookie campaign.

The Spurs currently own a record of 32-22 and have won five games in a row.
