Each season, the San Antonio Spurs have a stretch called the “Rodeo Road Trip,” which tends to represent a time when they come together and start building up momentum for the playoffs.

Well, this year, the opposite rang true.

After their 101-85 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night, the Spurs finished the 2019 Rodeo Trip with a record of 1-7, the worst mark in the history of their franchise:

San Antonio began the eight-game road trip back on Feb. 4, kicking things off with a loss to the Sacramento Kings. The Spurs then lost to the Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz before finally notching their first victory in a narrow one-point win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

San Antonio proceeded to lose to the Toronto Raptors, followed by a horrendous 12-point loss to the lowly New York Knicks before concluding its trip with the loss to the Nets.

After that brutal stretch, the Spurs have now fallen to 33-29 on the season and are clinging to a playoff spot in the tight Western Conference. The good news is that eight of the next 10 games will be at the AT&T Center, where the San Antonio has gone 22-7 this year.

The Spurs' next game will come on Wednesday, where they will play host to the Detroit Pistons.

San Antonio has not missed the playoffs since the 1996-97 campaign, which resulted in drafting Tim Duncan first overall. Going back even further than that, the Spurs have made the postseason in all but one year since 1990, a truly incredible feat.
