The Philadelphia 76ers' wunderkind in Ben Simmons is on the right path to greatness as he joins Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson in an exclusive list.
Simmons becomes just the third rookie in history to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists in his rookie season, a feat done only done by those two legends.
Congrats to @BenSimmons25 of the @sixers on becoming the third rookie in @NBAHistory (Oscar Robertson & @MagicJohnson) with 1000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in their rookie season! #ThisIsWhyWePlay #HereTheyCome pic.twitter.com/6O09mewFuH

It's an impressive yet not much of a surprising feat. Simply because ever since stepping into the NBA, Simmons has shown great basketball IQ along with freakish athleticism. Standing at 6-foot-10 and weighing 230 lbs., Simmons has a strength of a forward and a speed of a guard. He can easily see over his relatively smaller foes or drive past them with ease.

Simmons entered tonight with averages of 16.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game. He would join @MagicJohnson and Oscar Robertson as only @NBA rookies to post such averages for a season. https://t.co/kUQmPPSDBG

Along with Joel Embiid, the Sixers definitely have won the lottery with their prized young players. The two have been steadily growing into a fine and deadly combination. Once the two gain more experience playing together, the Sixers may finally have a chance to go back to their winning ways.
The 21-year-old Simmons has often been compared to LeBron James. Not only do they possess the similar playstyle but they both struggled with their jump shot earlier in their career. Hopefully, like LeBron, Simmons can improve or even correct his shooting form. Some critics say that he does not really look comfortable shooting with his left. They say that he's really a right-handed player by nature.
