Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons missed his first game of the season against the Orlando Magic due to an elbow injury. But as Evin Priest of the Daily Telegraph reports, the star rookie is desperately looking to recover from that knock in order to face his idol LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Asked if the 21-year-old Simmons looked at the Cleveland game as one he wouldn’t miss, Brown said, “You couldn’t help but think like that. We get who is coming into town in a few days.”

Simmons has been a revelation as a rookie, averaging 18.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 7.7 assists in 35 minutes per game. His immediate and all-around impact has been similar to the one his idol James had in his first year in Cleveland back in 2003.

The two, who also share an agent in Klutch Sports’ Rich Paul, already share a close relationship off the court, with James taking on a mentorship role with the young Aussie.

But when they step onto the court, there will be no idols or mentees, but just two competitors looking to get the win. Simmons' return will be integral in the impressive Sixers getting the better of James and the streaking Cavs, who have won seven games in a row.
