It has been a delicate process for the Philadelphia 76ers in terms of handling big man Joel Embiid's workload this season.
In fact, this has become one of the constant dialogues around the Sixers so much so that Embiid has voiced that he wants a stop to the labelling of the situation, according to Jake Pavorsky of NJ Advance Media.

There's gonna be some games I'm going to be sore, and I'm going to be tired. That's where they're going to have to take me out. But we've gotta stop calling it a minutes restriction.”
The minute workload has been a frustrating situation for Joel Embiid as his time on the floor has varied through the first two games. At this just juncture, he's sitting at 27.5 minutes per contest while playing 28 in Friday's loss to the Boston Celtics.
It is a notable uptick from last season where he averaged 25.4 minutes in the 31 games that he took the floor. The Sixers' willingness to play him a few minutes should indicates that there is some belief that he could handle a more extended role.
It may have just been only two games this season, but if Joel Embiid can show that he can physically handle that increased workload the Sixers may be more willing to push his minutes up. Ultimately, it's all dependent on how Embiid's body can handle more time on the court.
