LaMarcus Aldridge and Serge Ibaka almost came to blows on Monday during the highly-competitive matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors. After Danny Green converted on a basket, the two big men continued to jockey for position, which got their arms entangled. They exchanged a few choice words for one another before Aldridge pushed Ibaka off, and they had to be separated to avoid the situation to escalate further.
The Spurs star was asked after the game to give his thoughts about the scuffle. He made it clear that there’s no general dislike between them despite their history of altercations. LaMarcus Aldridge added that it was only brought about by their competitiveness, which even “woke him up.” He also said that he is unsure whether he’ll receive a fine from the league office or not.

Should LaMarcus Aldridge and Serge Ibaka get suspended, it will be a huge blow to their teams, especially now that they are off to a good start to the season. The Spurs are still unbeaten after three games, and are continuing to find ways to win despite the absence of Kawhi Leonard, who has yet to play for them this year.
The Raptors on the other hand, lost for the first time on Monday, but will look to bounce back immediately from it. However, it won’t be an easy assignment for them as they will face the Golden State Warriors next, but it can be expected that they will give it their all to avoid having a losing skid this early in the season.
