The Oklahoma City Thunder have dropped their last two games in a row immediately following their six-game winning streak. But even with those two setbacks, Carmelo Anthony believes the team has figured things out offensively. Although, he cautions that that offensive improvement must not come at the expense of their top defense taking a step back.

Per ESPN's Royce Young:

“The offense has come a long way … that’s something, I think we’ve figured out. It's something we will continue to work on. But even though our offense is moving in the right direction, we can't allow our defense to slip. We are one of the top defensive teams in the NBA so we want to keep that level of intensity out there, that focus at the same time as our offense is making strides and moving to the right direction.”

It’s hard to argue that Carmelo Anthony and the Thunder have finally solved some of the offensive woes which plagued them earlier in the year. Over their last eight games, the Thunder actually have the top offensive efficiency in the entire league.

That impressive run has coincided with Russell Westbrook raising his level of efficiency back up to MVP-caliber territory. However, it’s also gone hand in hand with Anthony and Paul George becoming more comfortable in their role within the Thunder offense.

The Thunder's recent losses show that they still have some way to go before being considered one of the truly elite teams. But at least they've proven that they can be an elite offensive team for a considerable stretch of time, and it's now just a matter of playing well on both ends of the court more consistently.
