For most of the 2017-18 NBA season amongst fans, the future of Oklahoma City Thunder star forward Paul George past this first season in OKC with stars Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony has been up in the air.
However, George urges that the end of this season will not influence his decision with free agency looming.
“This is our first year together,” George said. “We have a chance to win it all, but realistically, it takes time for things to build and the chemistry to mesh just for everybody to be on the same page.”
With rumors constantly being thrown around that George could potentially go join the young up-and-coming Los Angeles Lakers for the 2018-19 season, he insists his focus remains with the Thunder and loves it in Oklahoma City.
“This wasn’t a championship or bust coming into this for me. There is just an opportunity to see what it’s like to be here and just to naturally fall in love with it and it’s been that. It’s been a lot of love here,” George said.

A video of George's interview on Friday with members of the media, which was posted to Twitter by Thunder beat reporter Royce Young of ESPN, can be viewed below.

However, all of this is just talk and it's only the beginning of April. There will potentially be a lot that will transpire between now and the opening day of this summer's free agency period beginning on July 1.
In his first year with the Thunder, George is currently averaging 21.6 points on 42.8 percent shooting from the field, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
