One of the many players to be traded from the Cavaliers on this crazy trade deadline day was Derrick Rose who was sent to the Utah Jazz in part of a three-team trade that saw the Cavaliers get back George Hill and Rodney Hood.

There are a few teams looking for point guard depth and he should have a market, but the Minnesota Timberwolves seem to be one of the teams that will be the hardest pursuer of the veteran point guards talent.

The Timberwolves' interest to sign Rose seems pretty natural for the way coach Tom Thibodeau has ran his first couple of years in Minnesota.
This offseason he brought back Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson and Aaron Brooks, all guys who played under Thibodeau in Chicago.
Thibodeau and Rose enjoyed a lot of success together when they were both a part of the Bulls organization. At just 22 years old Rose won the MVP award in the 2010-11 season.
During that season he played all 82 games putting up 25 points and 7.7 assists per game. He hasn't had that type of success since that season but if he were to join the Timberwolves this season, he would give them another veteran leader off the bench.
The Wolves do have Tyus Jones as another backup guard who has really taken a step forward this year. Although he is only averaging 4.9 points per game he is a guy who can do some scoring when Teague is having an off night.
It isn't clear at this point who would be the backup if Rose did join the Wolves, but one thing is certain, he would make them a better team.
