Last Friday, Yahoo Sports Canada hosted Raptors point guard Jeremy Lin on their Inside the Green Room with Danny Green podcast. In the episode, they talked about Lin's first impressions of Toronto after joining the Raptors earlier in the month. The conversation turned to 42-year-old Vince Carter, Lin's former teammate in Atlanta and the oldest active NBA player.
Lin had talked to Carter about his age while they were teammates, and on the podcast, he described Carter's response. Via Yahoo Sports Canada on YouTube:
“…I remember asking [Carter], like, dude, you're playing pretty late into your career – this was obviously in Atlanta a couple months ago – I'm like oh, you know, what's the secret. That's what everyone always asks him, what's the secret. He's like, ‘Yeah, before the game I take Tylenol and Aleve together, that's the secret.' I'm like, ‘Bro. I'm not doing that.' That was not what I expected to hear.
But then he was like ‘Nah, I'm messing with you,' he's like ‘You know, obviously take care of your body, but seriously I need Tylenol and Aleve before some of these games.' He's like, ‘Sometimes, my body just hurts. I have to take them. The Tylenol kicks in first, and the Aleve kicks in later, so you need both.' And I'm just like, ‘Alright, I'm going to just throw that piece of information out.'”

Carter is in his 21st season in the NBA. The Atlanta Hawks small forward has averaged 6.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist while shooting 43.9% in a bench role. The 10-time All-Star is set to hit free agency this offseason.
Lin, 30, is in his ninth season. He was the first American of Taiwanese or Chinese descent to see time in the NBA. Lin is best known for his ‘Linsanity' breakout with the Knicks in 2012. Since he has taken a step back and settled into a bench role. On the season, he is averaging 10.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while shooting 45.6%.
At 45-17, the Raptors hold the second seed in the Eastern Conference. They are only two and a half games behind the Milwaukee Bucks. On Friday night they will take on the Portland Trail Blazers at home.
