The Toronto Raptors want to keep Kawhi Leonard past this season, but they won't be the only team interested in the superstar's services. The Los Angeles Clippers are also going to be aggressively pursuing Leonard, but this isn't concerning to the Raptors, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. Amick writes:

Yet the Raptors officials with whom I spoke, and who are hoping their mid-July trade with San Antonio to make him their centerpiece wasn’t a one-year rental, expressed no concern over the Clippers’ style. And if what transpired after that Raptors-Clippers game is any indication, it’s quite clear that this isn’t about getting Leonard to notice them or their efforts.

The Clippers will likely have a chance to make a pitch for Leonard, but the Raptors have an edge over every other team angling for the enigmatic superstar. Toronto has all season long to pitch Leonard on re-signing. Furthermore, a trip to the NBA Finals could be enough to convince Leonard that Toronto is the best place for him long-term.

The Clippers and others can make their best possible pitch to Leonard, but it may fall flat if the Raptors have their way this season. That's the main reason why Toronto isn't expressing much concern about other teams vying for Leonard's services, even if it's in an especially aggressive fashion.

But on the other hand, if the Raptors playoff flameouts continue, that could push Kawhi Leonard out of Toronto and convince him to explore other opportunities. So far, so good for Toronto, but there is a lot of basketball left this season.
