Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was not happy with the way his team carelessly handled the ball against the Los Angeles Lakers in Wednesday's 127-123 overtime win.
The Warriors had every other team stat right on the mark — 49 rebounds, 30 assists, 10 steals, four blocks and a 50/40/75 shooting line to boot, but the 42-year-old coach was concerned about the 22 turnovers his team had throughout the game.
“Particularly galling would be the word,” Kerr said, cutting off the reporter. “I like the word galling. Tonight was absolutely galling, there were some mind-boggling plays out there.”
“I don't know what to tell you, we gotta be able to take better care of the ball, make better decisions… maybe I'll try a different tact from here on out.”

While turnovers will happen, especially at the furious pace the Warriors are accustomed to playing, some of these were YMCA-like, just baffling mistakes that can be seen everywhere in a rec center, but not in a professional basketball arena — and especially not from a unit that has played together for several years.

Turning the ball over more than 20 times in a game usually spells a loss all over it, but if it wasn't for Stephen Curry's late night antics, scoring 13 of his 28 points in overtime — the Warriors will have yet another L in the column at the end of the night.
In true E-40 fashion, Curry put on his Captain Save A Ho* cape on and drilled every one of his three perimeter shots, including 5-of-6 from the line to ice the game.
Kerr's concern with turnovers is very real, as Golden State ranks as the third-worst team in the league with a 16.3 turnover average per game — expected to be one of the points of emphasis through the remaining five games of the road trip.
