Locked into the No. 2 seed in the West and fresh off a 17-point win over the Phoenix Suns, the Golden State Warriors prepare for yet another playoff run, keeping their now-familiar “Strength In Numbers” campaign.
Head coach Steve Kerr is glad the motto has caught on among fans and players, but wishes he'd been able to coin the popular phrase, which has now raked plenty of dough in the last three years.

President Rick Welts, who was recently announced as a 2018 inductee into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, noted Kerr should have made some other trademarks before this one.
“As the NBA’s all-time leader in three-point field goal percentage, he should have focused his time on securing a trademark for his jump shot,” Welts said in jest. “The way the game has evolved, he’d be a wealthy man!”
Jokes aside, Kerr is happy the meaning hasn't worn out, although it's being used for a fourth straight postseason — still holding the same lesson it once did in 2014-15.
“There’s a real power in everyone feeling a part of things. What I love about the phrase is it clearly applies to the fans, too,” Kerr said. “Our home court is as good as anybody’s. The phrase takes on a different meaning or a similar meaning. It includes the fans, not just our players. It’s pretty cool it’s caught on.”
