The Golden State Warriors are struggling mightily right now. They've lost four of their last six games and have all four of their All-Stars dealing with injuries that could linger if the proper rest and rehab isn't given. With the playoffs looming and the Houston Rockets now four games ahead of them for the first seed in the Western Conference, the Warriors are clearly going to take their time in bringing back their stars as the season winds down.

Guard Stephen Curry (ankle) and forward Kevin Durant (rib) both participated in non-contract practice with the team on Wednesday, the first for either player since suffering their respective injuries. While Curry is still targeting a return on Friday against the visiting Atlanta Hawks, head coach Steve Kerr says he does not envision Durant playing anytime soon, per Melissa Rohlin of the Mercury News.

“I don’t expect KD to play this week,” Kerr said. “But this is not a timetable, like a two-to-three-days thing. It’s a feel thing.”

Additionally, Kerr adds that he would not have let Durant participate in the practice if the Warriors scrimmaged, meaning he's not close to game action just yet. He is set to be re-evaulated in about a week, said Kerr.

Guard Klay Thompson is the next closest player to returning for the Warriors, and while he wasn't able to practice, he was able to do some work in the weight room, per Anthony Slater of the Athletic.

Draymond Green, on the other hand, did not practice on Wednesday with a pelvic contusion he suffered in a loss against the San Antonio Spurs a couple nights ago. After the game, he told reporters it was nothing serious, but the Warriors are going to take precautions with every key player as the season winds down.

The good news for the Warriors is that they're essentially locked into the two-seed out West, and they can afford to go easy on their stars in preparation for the playoffs. Coach Kerr isn't worried about whether or not his team will be able to find their rhythm with the playoffs so near.

“It’s not a concern of mine that we’re not going to be able to find our rhythm,” Kerr said. “I’m very comfortable with that.”

We'll see over the next couple weeks and as the playoffs begin whether Steve Kerr is right.
