Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich go way back.

When Kerr was still a player, he spent some time with the San Antonio Spurs, where Popovich has coached for over two decades, and even won a championship while he was there. Since then, the two have developed a close relationship, and constantly rib each other when one is asked a question about the other by the media.

Nowadays, Kerr's son is working for Gregg Popovich. Because of that, there is even more ribbing between the two. In fact, Popovich had quite the specific burn for Kerr, as Anthony Slater of The Athletic chronicled before the game against the Spurs.

Needless to say, this is hilarious. Popovich has a wide knowledge base, so him making jokes about Vladimir Putin are in lock step with that. In addition, it appears that Popovich is not shy about making fun of the offspring of a close friend, which makes him even more likable in a strange way.

It's unclear from Slater's post exactly what position Kerr's son holds with the Spurs. It could be any number of jobs, really. But if Popovich is worried, even jokingly, about Kerr's son being a spy, it must be a position that has to do with basketball strategy in some way, shape or form.

But there's the thing. What if Popovich is right? What if Kerr suggested his son for the job with the sole purpose of finding out secrets about the Spurs and how they are playing this season? It's very possible that they two teams meet in the playoffs, and the Warriors could use all the knowledge they can get.

Or, what if Popovich knows this was Steve Kerr's plan all along, and he's using Kerr's son as a double agent?

The possibilities are endless.
