The Golden State Warriors had a very solid month of December, winning 13 of their 15 games on the month. It has catapulted them to first place in the tough Western Conference and have continued to win despite some of their key players missing games. With all the success they’re having so far this season, not a lot of credit is being given to their head coach, Steve Kerr, who's been calling all the right plays for them on the sidelines.

That changed recently though as the 52-year-old was named the Western Conference Coach of the Month. It’s already Steve Kerr's sixth time to receive such honor even if this is only his fourth season as head coach, which is a testament to the work he's done with the Warriors since he began coaching.

The Warriors currently have a 30-8 record and had just gotten back Stephen Curry after plenty of games due to injury. That said, Curry's presence will only make the team better as he gives Steve Kerr more options to use especially on the offensive end. If Kerr can take advantage of his players mostly remaining healthy, they could be geared for another strong run for the title and should that happen, it can be expected that the two-time champion coach will have more awards and distinctions coming his way.
